A bishop in Kenya in Lurambi village Kiungani Trans Nzoia county has commmited suicide after his wife allegedly denied him food.
According to reports, Bishop Emmanuel Nyonges Simiu of the Faith by Works Ministry, Mwamba, after coming home from church on Saturday, May 4, demanded food from his wife but his wife refused to serve or prepare him a meal because he left no money to buy food. Sources within the family told Kenyan news outlet TUKO.co.ke that the man of God went to bed with an empty belly threatening to do something terrible.
“You have refused to give me food. You are going to see a terrible thing that will shake this family and my congregation,” the bishop said before going to bed.
At 7am on the morning of Sunday, May 5, the man of God woke up and headed straight to the kitchen pretending to cook for himself. It was his elder son who raised alarm to the family when he found the preacher’s body hanging from the rafters.
“It is true the bishop has committed suicide and the body has been removed to Kiminini cottage hospital but we are yet to establish why he took his life,”Baraton location chief Mildred Chesoli confirmed.
